| The Insider LowDown: Winning 100 games in a season may be nothing new for the Atlanta Braves, but in 2002 the Braves seem to be unstoppable. With Andruw Jones and Chipper Jones picking up their swings (as of late) the Braves are a lock for the NL East pennant. Just like fine wine the Atlanta Braves pitching staff has become more refined with time. Tom Glavine (although a bad July has hurt his chances) could win yet another Cy Young award and John Smoltz has finally stabilized the closers role that has eluded the Braves (Wohlers and Rocker) the last 5-6 years. Millwood, Maddux, and Moss are having great years as well, which puts a lot of pressure on other teams (hmmm. Arizona Diamondbacks) to perform on a consistent basis. Home-field advantage throughout the playoffs is virtually guaranteed for the Braves and a World Series Ring is certainly plausible. Watching this championship caliber team is something you will always remember (take it from someone who lives in Detroit (Tigers suck.... perpetually). If you have the chance to take your friends, kids, or wives out for a day/night, there's no better place to go than Turner Field. | ||
