Offseason Acquisitions

On August 14, 2002 the Bruins agreed to terms with free agent Bryan Berard (D). Beard played with the New York Rangers in 2001-02.

On July 19, 2002 the Bruins signed free agents Rich Brennan (D), Matt Herr (C), Martin Wilde (D), and Bill Bowler (C).

On July 17, 2002 the Bruins signed unrestricted free agent Michel Grosek (LW), who played with the New York Rangers in 2001-02.

Trades

The Bruins acquired Steve Shields (G) from the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim for a third-round draft pick in 2003 on June 26, 2002.

The Bruins acquired Jeff Norton (D) from the Florida Panthers for a 2002 sixth-round draft pick on March 20, 2002.
