On August 8, 2002 the Cavaliers signed Carlos Boozer (F/C), who is a rookie from Duke University.
On July 17, 2002 the Cavaliers signed Dajuan Wagner (G), their first-round pick, to a three-year contract with a club option.

The Cleveland Cavaliers acquired Michael Stewart (C) and a future first-round draft pick from the Toronto Raptors for Lamond Murray (F) and a future second-round draft pick on Sept. 26, 2002.
