Chris Anderson (PF) will miss the next 6-8 weeks after sustaining a broken right thumb. Anderson went in for surgery on the thumb on Nov. 30, 2002. The injury occurred in a game against the Golden State Warriors on Nov. 29, 2002. The Nuggets activated swingman Vincent Yarbrough after placing Anderson on the injured reserve list on Dec. 3, 2002.

On August 9, 2002 the Nuggets signed free agent Mark Blount (C), who previously played with the Boston Celtics.

The Nuggets acquired Marcus Camby (F/C), Mark Jackson (G, waived Sept. 28, 2002), and the rights to Nene Hilario (F) from the New York Knicks for Antonio McDyess (F), the rights to Frank Williams (G) and a 2003 second-round pick on June 27, 2002.
