NFL Tickets Center Outlook
David Greene was last
year's SEC Freshman of the Year but received some strong competition for his
job in spring practice. Redshirt freshman D.J. Shockley has great
athleticism and showed the ability to make big plays at quarterback, even in
difficult situations. Greene should be the starter when the Bulldogs open
the season against Clemson, but he needs to keep improving. Coach Mark
Richt wants to find a way to use both players and get the ball in
Shockley's hands a few times each game.
Coach Jim Harrick is taking some heat in Athens because of the
ineligibility of his entire 2002 recruiting class and the legal troubles of
some current players, writes ESPN.com's Andy Katz. Harrick is defending the
recruiting risks he took and accepting criticism for the distractions
plaguing the program. "I blame no one but me," Harrick said. "I don't pin it
on anybody. I don't blame other people. It's my program." |
