The Lakers had Thanksgiving dinner at Shaquille O'Neal's estate in Orlando on Nov. 28, 2002. The team took an extra 24 hours off to enjoy O'Neals new basketball court and camaraderie. Kobe Bryant commented "I don't think Shaq can cook, period."
Chuck Hearn, a former broadcaster for the Lakers was honored on Nov. 24, 2002. The Lakers unveiled and retired a jersey commemorating Hearn and his broadcasting excellence. Hearn passed away this August.
