Moe Williams (RB) set a team record on Nov. 17, 2002 (against Green Bay) by rushing for a touchdown in 10 straight games.

Hayden Epstein (K) was claimed off waivers on Oct. 23, 2002. To make room on the active roster, the Vikings waived Doug Brien (K). Gary Anderson will continue to be Minnesota's place kicker, but will now serve as a mentor to Epstein. Epstein is a rookie from the University of Michigan.

After a dismal 2001 campaign and a tough loss to the Chicago Bears (last-minute heroics of Jim Miller) in the season opener, the Minnesota Vikings will have to regroup when they open their home schedule against the Buffalo Bills (and their new acquired QB, Drew Bledsoe). The Vikings will need more production from their running game if they are going to make a run for the playoffs. Dante Culpepper is one of the NFL's best quarterbacks, but if Michael Bennet and Moe Williams can't produce the Vikings are going to have a tough time.
