On Dec. 3, 2002 the Nashville Predators signed free agent Reid Simpson (LW), who was not offered a contract during the offseason by the Predators.

Denis Pederson (C) will miss two weeks after hurting the bicep on his left shoulder on Nov. 6, 2002 against the Anaheim Mighty Ducks. Pederson had one assist in nine games this season.

On Sept. 7, 2002 the Nashville Predators signed free agent Andreas Johansson (C), who previously played with the New York Rangers

On July 25, 2002 the Nashville Predators signed free agents Denis Pederson (C), who previously played with the Phoenix Coyotes and free agent Domenic Pittis (C), who previously played with the Edmonton Oilers.

On July 17, 2002 the Nashville Predators signed unrestricted free agent Pascal Trepanier (D), who previously played with the Colorado Avalanche.

On July 12, 2002 the Nashville Predators signed free agents Brent Gilchrist (LW), who previously played with the Dallas Stars and Clarke Wilm (C), who previously played with the Calgary Flames.

Trades

The Nashville Predators acquired the rights to Tie Domi (RW) from the Toronto Maple Leafs for a 2003 eighth-round pick on July 1, 2002.

The Nashville Predators acquired Steve Parsons (LW) from the Pittsburgh Penguins for future considerations on May 16, 2002.
