The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are off to their best start in nearly a decade
(5-0). If the Fighting Irish can shut down teams offensively with their
tenacious defense then look for the Irish to end the year with a victory at the
2003 Fiesta Bowl.
No matter who leads the Fighting Irish on the field, Notre Dame's true leader
is Coach Tyrone Willingham. Willingham has brought a tradition of success
and it looks to have worn onto the players in 2002. This years Fighting Irish
team is remnant of Lou Holtz's national championship contending teams. This is
the year Notre Dame alumni have been waiting for, look for the Fighting Irish to
put on a show and contend for the National Championship in 2002.
