Despite losing Donavan McNabb (QB) on Nov. 17 against the Arizona Cardinals, the Phildelphia Eagles defeated the St. Louis Rams 10-3 on Dec. 1, 2002. A.J Feely (QB) led the Eagles as they embarrassed the St. Louis Rams. The Eagles will look to get the inside track for home-field advantage throughout the playoffs with a victory over the Seattle Seahawks on Dec. 8, 2002.

Sean Landeta (P) was placed on the injured reserve list on Dec.3, 2002. With an extra spot on the 53-man active roster the Eagles signed Jason Baker (P) to a two-year contract.

Tim Hauck (S) was signed to a one-year contract on Nov. 7, 2002. To make room on the active roster the Eagles re-signed Julius Jones (S) to the pratice squad.

Donavan McNabb (QB) signed the biggest contract in NFL history. The contract pay the Eagles starting quarterback $115 million dollars over the next twelve years. The deal included a $20.5 million dollar signing bonus and will expire in 2013.

The Philadelphia Eagles look to turn last seasons loss in the NFC Conference Championship to the St Louis Rams into a Super Bowl victory behind the leadership of mobile and increasingly experienced QB Donavan McNabb. McNabb might need some help this year. As evident in the season opener the Eagles will need to establish the ground game if they are going to compete with the leagues elite teams. Duce Staley and Dorsey Levens are great backs in their own right and time but they either need to start performing or call it quits. If the Philadelphia Eagles are going to have any chance of bringing home the Lombardi trophy they are going to have to establish the ground game early.

Defensively, by signing free agents Levon Kirkland (MLB) and Michael Sinclair (DL) the Philadelphia Eagles have upgraded a defensive unit which played exceptionally in the 2001 season. If the Philadelphia Eagles can't establish the running game, Michael Sinclair (replacing the injured Derrick Burgess) and the Eagles defensive unit will have to step up and hold opposing teams in check.
