On July 13, 2002 the Phoenix Coyotes signed free agent Tony Amonte (RW), who previously played with the Chicago Blachawks, to a four-year contract.
On July 8, 2002 the Phoenix Coyotes signed free agent Kelly Buchberger (RW), who previously played with the Los Angeles Kings, to a one-year contract.
