On Oct. 19, 2002 the Kings signed free agent Damon Jones (G), who previously played with the Detroit Pistons.
On August 17, 2002 the Kings re-signed restricted free agent Mike Bibby (F) to a multi-year contract extension.
On August 15, 2002 the Kings signed free agent Keon Clark (F), who previously played with the Toronto Raptors.
On August 10, 2002 second round pick Corsley Edwards (F) was signed.
Trades
The Sacramento Kings traded the rights to first round pick Dan Dickau (G) for a future first-round pick on June 27, 2002.
