Dave Andreychuk (LW) will miss the next 4-6 weeks after sustaining a hairline fracture of the big toe on his right foot. Andreychuk was placed on the injured reserve list on Dec. 5, 2002. With an extra spot on the active roster the Lightning recalled Alexander Svitov (C) from Springfield of the American Hockey League.

Free Agent Acquisitions
On Sept. 12, 2002 the Tampa Bay Lightning signed free agent Darren Rumble (D) to a one-year contract.
On July 28, 2002 the Tampa Bay Lightning re-signed restricted free agent Shane Willis (RW) to a one-year contract.
