On July 11, 2002 the Wizards signed first round pick Juan Dixon (G) to a three-year contract. On July 11, 2002 the Wizards signed Jared Jeffries (F), one of their first-round picks, to a three-year contract with a club option. Trades The Washington Wizards acquired George McCloud (F) and cash from the Denver Nuggets for Chris Whitney (G) on Oct. 26, 2002. The Washington Wizards traded Richard Hamilton (G), Hubert Davis (G), and Bobby Simmons (F) to the Detroit Pistons for Jerry Stackhouse (G), Brian Cardinal (F), and Ratko Varda (F) on Sept. 12, 2002.
